Lithium is associated with the release and inhibition of serotonin, dopamine, and adrenaline in neurons, and is known to increase white blood cells, lower blood pressure, and have effects on reproduction.

In drug therapy, lithium carbonate, a lithium donor, is often used as the first or second-line drug in the treatment of bipolar disorder, but its medication management is important because kidney damage and other serious side effects have been reported in case of overdosage.

In addition to its mood stabilizing effects, there have been a number of recent reports on the effects of lithium on diseases related to oxidative stress, and research on the effects of lithium agents on other diseases is being reconsidered.

This method determines the lithium concentration by observing the color change in the visible region by the formation of a chelate complex between a polyvalent halogen-substituted porphyrin compound and lithium ions.

It is the world's first product as a stable liquid coloration kit for microplate readers.

◯ Samples that can be directly quantified with this kit

Examples: serum, plasma

With this kit, serum and plasma can be directly used as samples for measurement.

※ Do not use heparin lithium as it will affect the measurement results.

(1) ) Add 4 µl of DIW, standard solution, and assay sample to wells of a 96-well plate.

(2) Add 240 µl of RA solution to each well

(3) Incubate the plate at room temperature for 10 minutes.

(4) Measure absorbance at main wavelength 550 nm (secondary wavelength 600 nm.)

(5) Calculate the lithium concentration using the following formula:
